The Armidale Drama & Musical Society first came together in 1922 and was active until the war years. Reformed in 1963, we have been producing musicals continuously since.
We support other organisations with fund raising performances and have been involved in collaborative productions with other organisations such as The Armidale Symphony Orchestra, The Armidale Choral Society, The Armidale Music Foundation & The Plague and the Moonflower Tour Group. On the 15th September, 2010 the ADMS and The Armidale Playhouse formed into one theatre group.
Membership of the Society changes from year to year as people come and go. Some people have been with us for only one or two shows whilst others have enjoyed the experience for over 50 years. New members are always welcome - whether you want to appear on stage or be involved behind the scenes. We need people to help with costumes, props, stage sets, publicity, front of house and many other jobs. Come along and discover your talents.
Tommy: The Musical
Performance dates: Friday - 8th July to Saturday 23rd July, 2016 - TAS Hoskins Centre.
This show does have adult content and drug themes.
Tommy is a smash-hit musical and powerful tale of a deaf, mute and blind pin-ball player who becomes an international messiah. The young boy’s journey from pain to triumph is the most electrifying evening of rock and roll ever to play in a theatre!
The classic '60s rock opera by The Who has translated to the stage into a high-energy, one-of-a-kind theatrical event. The exhilarating score is timeless in its appeal.
